Description:
Product Safety Engineer will be responsible for to eliminating and reducing hazards pertinent to product and equipment. The engineer will perform tests to measure product safety levels and make recommendations to eliminate or reduce health hazards that could happen due to product and/or equipment inefficiencies. The PSE will be responsible for developing and carrying out tests and experiments to gauge the safety levels of products and equipment as well as recommends strategies to improve workplace safety, product and processes.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Develops and conducts tests to evaluate product safety levels and recommends measures to reduce or eliminate hazards: Establishes procedures for detection and elimination of physical and chemical hazards and avoidance of potential toxic effects and other product hazards. Investigates causes of accidents, injuries, and illnesses resulting from product and equipment usage and develops solutions. Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Evaluates potential health hazards or damage which could result from misuse of products and applies engineering principles and product standards to improve safety. Conduct research and tests to evaluate product safety. Coordinate with outside organizations, such as OSHA or fire departments. Identify, measure and isolate potential safety hazards. Investigate accidents and injuries related to product and issue recalls if necessary. Develop and conduct testing methods. Evaluate risk of fires or physical harm. Develop safety procedures when handling product. Anticipate, recognize, and evaluate safety hazards. Advise workers on the proper use of safety equipment and clothing. Determine if noise levels are appropriate. Other duties as required. Qualified candidate should be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment, should have excellent time management, project management & organizational skills, should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but un-involved written or oral instructions, should be able to read and understand equipment operation manuals, Safety Data Sheets, and other literature as required. Qualified candidate should possess good mathematics skills, troubleshooting skills, critical thinking/problem solving, should have a strong background in strategic management & project management, should be able to manage people using a Coaching/ Mentoring style, possess a high level of honesty, integrity and ethical values and behaviors, and have excellent communication skills with various personality types.

Requirements:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Experience: 36 Months
