Description:
The Delivery Specialist, acting in the capacity of a professional driver, is responsible for multi-stop operations, including timely and accurate delivery of product to and from Company's restaurants/affiliates and for compliance with all laws, regulations and company policies while operating a commercial motor vehicle on behalf of Employer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Transport product from commissary to appropriate location in a safe and timely manner, load and unload product in a safe and proper manner, with or without assistance from individuals or freight handling equipment, to ensure minimal risk of damage to cargo and Company restaurants, secure all shipments by tying down or bracing cargo (i.e. load locks) within the trailer as required, inspect the tractor and trailer for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Submit a required report documenting the condition of the equipment at the beginning and at the end of the trip, reconcile shipping paperwork (invoices) and load sheets to determine if the load on the trailer matches both the load sheets and the invoices, install and remove tire chains as needed per weather conditions, maneuver the vehicle safely at various speeds and/or in difficult situations including, but not limited to, heavy traffic, inclement weather and/or in areas of tight (limited) maneuvering, maintain all required records for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases and mileage trip reports and ensure all required shipment documentation (manifest, invoices, delivery invoices or shipping orders) are available for inspection, comply with all federal, state, local regulations and laws (of the areas driven through) and company policies for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicle, report any delays in the delivery promptly. Include specifics of how the delay impacted the pickup or delivery of cargo, develop and maintain a professional and effective relationship with customers, attend all mandatory QCC Delivery Specialist meetings, comply with all Company policies and procedures as applicable to the position, perform other duties as assigned. Candidate is required to be available for extended travel and to be on call as needed. Will perform frequent bending, squatting, and lifting of weight of up to 60 pounds overhead with no assistance; requires individual to load and move up to 400 pounds with use of material handling devices. DOT medical physical required. QUALIFICATIONS: * Valid CMV and Class A CDL certifications required. * Acceptable MVR required. * A minimum of 2 years experience with valid CDL within the past 5 years and verifiable experience as a driver of commercial motor vehicles (tractor-trailer). Military experience may be used to fulfill the experience requirement provided the candidate’s primary Military Operating Specialty (MOS) was that of a truck driver operating vehicles similar to the type of equipment utilized by Employer.
