Description:
As a Parts Counter Sales Rep, you will be responsible for customer service in a variety of parts ordering functions. Generally you will assist customers with parts orders, as well as solving parts issues, identifying proper part numbers, and taking and placing orders over the counter or by telephone. This position is heavily customer service oriented and requires a positive, professional attitude and prompt response in interactions with customers and fellow employees to help them identify proper parts numbers and checking for parts availability. Position requires candidate to: possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail when working with inventory, complete or assist customers and certain Company associates with completing parts orders, and will enter the related information into the data processing system; will look up part numbers, check pricing and availability of parts, check customer credit using our data systems and verify that orders have shipped and are billed to the customer or Service Department. Also requires candidate to read and comprehend parts books, parts orders, packing lists, manufacturer's reference materials and freight bills and be detail oriented and organized. Will be required to perform manual labor tasks as part of this position including loading, unloading, lifting and moving various materials and must be physically able to meet the requirements of the position which may change from day to day and could weigh in excess of 50lbs. You will assist in a variety of functions that involve these duties, which may include shipping or delivering parts/products to suppliers and customers and may require the employee to use hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other handling equipment to move materials to and from trucks and within the plant facility or customer facility. The duties of this position will change according to the day to day needs of Company management and production needs, and so requires the individual to be versatile and adaptable in addition to being able to perform manual labor tasks.The position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience within this field or a related customer service position. Will work under immediate supervision of the Parts Manager and will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions typically will not require exercising independent judgment, and may include other duties which may include driving a service or delivery truck and running errands to pick up or deliver supplies or other items, for which proof of a valid driver's license is required, and must be maintained at all times. Employment, and continuation of your employment, may be dependent upon satisfying this requirement of the position.Drug screen and background check are administered.
