Description:
Under the direction and guidance of the sanitation supervisor, coordinate and lead the activities of the sanitation team to ensure the production floor is within Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines and government standards to meet customer demand. Our company has a zero tolerance for failing to follow GMP guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities: * Prioritize and assign daily sanitation tasks * Verify the completion of daily sanitation and production employees * Ensure that Sanitation Programs and SOP’s are followed to prevent microbial and allergen contamination. * Communicate & coordinate sanitation issues & activities with other appropriate departments. * Ensure sanitation chemicals, supplies, and tools are ordered and available. * Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule in an “audit ready” state. * Maintain Sanitation Manual, update Sanitation SOP’s and develop new ones. * Train Sanitation SOP’s including Train-the-Trainer. * Maintain and enhance the Chemical Control Program including ordering, receiving, transporting, storing, inventory, labeling, MSDS, diluting, and using sanitation chemicals. * Follow PPE requirements all of the safety procedures at all times. * Fills in for the sanitation supervisor whenever necessary including food safety and food quality audits * Provide Sanitation Team support for the plant Environmental Program. Initiate a root cause analysis and document the corrective action taken in response to Environmental Program issues related to sanitation. Verify the effectiveness of the corrective action taken. * Recommend improvements to the Sanitation Program, Environmental Program, Pest Control Program, Waste Water Program, and others as appropriate. * Oversee Sanitation Team support for the Waste Water Program. * Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) established for Sanitation, Environmental, and Pest Control programs are met. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects. * Complete other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor or Manager * Safely use and dispose of cleaning agents and chemicals * Ability to follow safety & GMP requirements and ability to identify and report to Management Food Safety and Quality Issues * Follow all safety guidelines required by company * Participate in training opportunities Skills and Competencies: * Dependable, reliable and punctual * Must be able to remain in a stationary position, traverse, ascend/descend, reach, move, pull, push, position self, bend and stretch as needed throughout shift * Ability to use operate machinery in repetitive motions * Ability to work at a fast pace, in a team-oriented environment * Consistently work in a refrigerated environment, 34 – 37 degrees consistently * Available to work a flexible schedule including holidays, weekends and overtime when needed. * Must be able to comprehend, speak, read, and write basic English * Must be able to move 50 lbs. consistently * Must be able to work with little supervision * Must work on third shift, may be asked to work during daytime as needed * Sense of urgency * Initiative to make improvements * Must pass background and drug screening Employment is subject to passing a background check and drug screen. This position will start out as day shift but could vary after startup. Requirements:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 36 Months
