Job Title: Department Technician Job Location: Griffin, Georgia Salary: $13.00 - $17.00 Salary Frequency: Hourly Description: Our ideal candidate is mechanically inclined to be able to perform a variety of functions. In addition, we seek an autonomous team player who can diplomatically prioritize the needs of the department served. This is a fast-paced environment that requires innovative thinking and initiative. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility’s textile and other equipment. * Assist section leader in running the specific department * Assist in the installation and repair of a wide variety of complex equipment, including replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. * Assist in the pulling of newly tied beams on the looms. * Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service. Repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components. * Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with engineering and support staff. * Ability to troubleshoot equipment without the use of schematics when needed. * Recommend changes to equipment to increase productivity, decrease downtime or to simplify maintenance of the equipment. * Adhere to company safety policies * Able to work as a part of a team or independently with direction. * Strong work ethic with good attendance record. * Considerable judgment required to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available. * Other duties as assigned by manager.
