Description:
The Director of Tooling, Die & Engineering is responsible for providing vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management. In addition, the Director will promote efficient operations to meet current and future business needs of the company as it relates to Tool & Die and Engineering departments. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • This person will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction for both the Tool & Die and Engineering departments. • Directly supervise members of both Tool & Die and Engineering departments. • Manage projects, create project plans, estimate costs, monitor and report on project progress. • Support the sales department by determining piece cost and tooling cost for proposals. Work directly with customers to assist in product application, product selection and developing new products. • Manage and participate in tooling and machine design. • Oversee product research and development. • Develop, implement, manage and improve standards, policies and procedures in both departments. • Improve efficiencies by adapting new technologies and methods. • Participate with other department leaders in establishing maintenance priorities. Position has supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Other responsibilities include assisting in hiring and dismissal of personnel; creating and executing employee performance reviews; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Required Education and Experience • Associates degree in Engineering • Hands-on experience in a machine shop, preferable in the support of a production department • 2-5 years 2-D CAD experience • 2-5 years 3-D CAD experience Preferred Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering • 10 Years’ experience managing a technical staff preferred • Mechanical design experience preferred • CNC CAM programming experience • Experience working with stamping presses and related equipment. • Vertical Machining Center experience • Wire EDM experience Experience: • 3-D CAD: 2 years (Required) • 2-D CAD: 2 years (Required) • Managing a technical staff: 10 years (Preferred) • Vertical Machining Center: 1 year (Preferred) • Working with stamping press & related equipment: 3 year (Preferred) • Hands-on experience in a machine shop: 1 year (Required) • Wire EDM: 1 year (Preferred) • Mechanical design: 1 year (Preferred) • CNC CAM programming: 1 year (Preferred) #CBRC

Minimum Education: Associates degree/some college
