Description:
• Operational Support • Act as an advisor to the design process, driving technical solutions to support manufacturing friendly and trouble free Die designs • Ensure tooling is consistent with our build requirements • Support the ECN and scrap reduction processes on an as needed basis • Demonstrate proven ability to apply advanced engineering principles. • Understand the impact of ones decisions on other areas of the business; work broadly across the organization by interacting with multiple engineering disciplines. • Embrace lifelong learning and Identify when it is necessary to acquire new knowledge and skills; take self-driven action to develop professionally. • Demonstrate an interest in learning about new and emerging tools and technology. • Recognized as a leader in problem solving of complex problems; mentor others by teaching engineering knowledge and skills. • Problem tool evaluation utilizing root cause analysis to determine reasons for poor tool performance related to productivity, set up or Quality issues. Develops a corrective action plan to improve the tool, monitors and implements plan. • Develops and reviews Preventive maintenance procedures for all tooling updating where necessary to ensure continued tool performance. • Assist tool room with periodic problem solving developing toolmakers to utilize root cause analysis to correct issues. • Maintain die drawings using AutoCAD to reflect all changes performed to the tool details. * New Product Introduction & Engineering Change • Assists quote development for engineering changes on existing tools utilizing knowledge of tool design and tool performance. Takes opportunity to fix existing tool problems when a change opportunity exists. EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • A minimum of 7 years experience in a sheet metal stamping environment preferred • Authorized tool apprentice program or preferred Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering required • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance experience needed • Proficient in AutoCAD • Ability to manage complex project assignment priorities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Must be able to climb up and down, as well as work using a ladder. • Employee is regularly exposed to vibration, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. • Must be present on the job to perform the assigned duties and be able to work overtime which is often required to meet production schedules. #CBRC

Requirements:
Minimum Education: Associates degree/some college
