Job Title: Lead Operator Job Location: Commerce, Georgia Salary: Salary to be discussed Description: Job Summary Our fast-growing, technologically-driven manufacturing firm is seeking Lead Operators on all shifts. This position will provide the successful candidates with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills and work as a team within a clean and safe environment. This position is responsible for a variety of different production duties and leading a shift of Operators.This person will provide operational leadership and collaboration with logistics, warehouse, and facility production areas. He or she will help drive continuous improvement processes and develop new strategies for continual improvement and skill levels for the Operators on their shift. Essential Duties& Responsibilities * Daily execution of staffing schedules to ensure all production activities are completed. * Resolve first-level operational issues and escalate them as necessary to the Production Management. * Ensure all production operations and personnel are following OSHA safety requirements. * Handle training and continual skill improvement of new employees on the production floor. * Communicate with other shift leads about production schedules and customer orders. * Monitor status of all production areas as assigned. * Establish and foster a team-focused environment. Skill set * Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting. * Employee is required to move around work area, remain in a stationary position during work shift, position self to complete tasks, and ascend/descend equipment when needed. * Employee is required to maneuver a maximum of 60 pounds. * Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts; 24/7 operation may require to work adjusted shifts. * Employee must work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment. * Committed to quality, safety and communication. * Excellent communication skills at a cross-functional level (i.e. throughout the company). Job Requirements * Applicants must have 3 years of manufacturing/industrial experience. * Applicant must have 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications * Associates degree or higher. * Experience with Plastic Extrusion machinery. Potential for over time depending on business needs. Shift Per Diem 2nd shift- $ .50. 3rd Shift- $1.00. Paid bonuses depending on plant and employee performance. Substance abuse testing is a condition of employment.
