Job Summary Coordinate and professionally supervise operations of the warehouse. Responsibilities include following up on shipments, solving problems, dealing with employees, vendors and customers. Oversee inventory count to assure correct inventory is available to fulfill the line requirements. Assuring FIFO process is utilized. Maintain quality performance objectives and assisting in cost control programs. Well versed on safety and compliance issues and provide operational support for contract. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES * Provides instructions to hourly employees on proper material processes. * Monitors employee productivity and quality of work. * Ensures employees are following proper work instructions in their assigned areas. * Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area. * Ensures employees are provided with appropriate tools to complete assignments. * Provides effective training to employees in proper material handling and work methods. * Counsels and uses progressive corrective action processes when disciplining employees. * Remains current with part changes and operating procedures within assigned area. * Provides clear concise written and vernal communication to all material personnel. * Assist in the disposition of obsolete materials. * Assist in managing inventory levels to prevent gains and losses. * Maintains an effective operation that minimizes cost and ensures optimal space utilization. * Plans and schedules all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, maintenance, administrative activities, and human resources to ensure customer and company requirements are met. * Directs warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives and applies sound communication and motivational techniques. * Ensures accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations. Must ensure accurate billing and invoicing is compliant with company standards. * Monitors company policies to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property to include cleanliness, working conditions, and repairs. * Performs inventory counts to make certain of accurate control and security. * Ensures that customer orders are picked and shipped in a timely fashion. * Communicates with customers and maintains a close relationship to ensure goals are being met. * Performs all other duties as assigned by Operations Manager. GOALS/OUTCOMES: * Maintain company goal of zero accidents/incidents * Meet set warehouse goal for Labor to Handling Ratio * Maintain inventory accuracy of 99.8% * Ensure all assigned documents are downloaded to Share Point on time * Meet shipping and receiving accuracy goal 99.8% * Ensure Daily Housekeeping checklists are complete and accurate PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION * Ability to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects. * Must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. * Able to communicate and receive ordinary information. * Frequently and regular movements required, to move stock to and from shelving. * Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. * Position requires a high volume of moving around warehouse with a small volume of sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS * Ability to apply logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Able to deal with very difficult concepts and complex variables, and highly volatile time constraints. * Ability to use intermediate math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and draw and interpret graphs. * Ability to communicate directives in a clear and concise manner. Ability to prepare and make comprehensive preparations. Communicate simple instructions, and professionally communicate before an audience. Big Box environment experience is a plus. Good computer, communication and organizational skills needed. Ability to produce and make decisions in a highly fast pace and volatile environment. ***RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS NOT OFFERED, therefore living outside of a reasonable commuting distance that requires relocation would be at the candidates expense.*** This position has the following shifts: A Shift- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, 1/2 day Wednesday 7:15 am to 7:15 pm (except 1/2 day Wednesday) AND 7:15 pm to 7:15 am (except 1/2 day Wednesday) B Shift- 1/2 day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7:15 am to 7:15 pm (except 1/2 day Wednesday) AND 7:15 pm to 7:15 am (except 1/2 day Wednesday) Substance abuse testing is a condition of employment.
