Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Location: Dalton, Georgia Salary: Salary to be discussed Description: Duties and Requirements of the Job:* Performs such individual assignments as the Manager may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.* Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation. Also including, but not limited to organization goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department and ensure adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality.* Leads maintenance operations, establishes priorities and sequences for repair and preventive maintenance services; monitors schedules to ensure tasks and scheduled deadlines are met in order to plan department operations; prepares operational schedule and coordinates department activities to ensure maintenance services are performed to specifications in an efficient, cost effective, and customer-responsive manner. Monitors and reports daily maintenance related activity.* Works closely with plant safety and quality teams to proactively identify issues and develop and/or enhance related programs and procedures; ensures programs are maintained, that the department and plant is in compliance with applicable law and established Company standards, and the appropriate training and equipment is given to all employees.* Ensures manufacturing project engineering designs comply with codes, standards and regulations for Local, State and Federal Regulating Authorities.* Provide engineered solutions and root cause analysis for complex manufacturing and support equipment issues for production facilities within Area of Responsibility.* Continuously analyze costs and develop cost reduction plans for capital improvements and maintenance projects; provide support to facility managers in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives as needed.Training, Knowledge and Experience (May Be Required or Preferred, at the discretion of the hiring team): * 2 years' related experience providing Engineering solutions and in maintaining facility, equipment and machinery ideally in the Flooring industry -or- 7 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Associates Degree in Industrial Technology or similar field; Bachelors in Engineering degree (or similar Science) preferred* Requires candidate to work collaboratively in a team environment. * Advanced experiences with Microsoft Office 365 and other office tools.* Relocation package will not be offered for this position.* Excellent written and verbal communication.* Requires candidate to work collaboratively in a team environment.* Must be legally authorized to work in US without a sponsorship now or in the future.* Relocation package will not be offered for this position.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:* Remain in a stationary position, move about, activate, use and/or operate productivity machinery and to communicate and exchange information.* The employee is regularly required to either remain in a stationary position, move about, position self to move under and/or bend, and frequently move and/or transport objects up to 50 pounds.* Requires candidate to detect, inspect, perceive and observe.* Works within the setting of a manufacturing environment as well as office and laboratory setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.* Eye protection required.* Hearing protection required.* Steel toed shoes required on manufacturing and warehouse floor. * May be required to travel to other sites or customer sites as needed.When submitting a Resume for this position, I understand that this information may be used to create a registration with the Georgia Department of Labor on Employ Georgia.#CBMB Requirements: Minimum Education: Associates degree/some college Minimum Experience: 24 Months Special Requirements: This job does not have any special requirements.
