Description:
SHE (Occupational Health & Safety) Engineer is responsible for enhancing overall occupational health & safety on the production site & monitoring laws & regulations. Will assess the status of occupational health & safety; establish & implement occupational health & safety management guidelines. Will interact w/a wide range of stakeholders, including utility engineer & operator, equipment engineer, controls engineer, production engineer, production planner & manager & vendors to identify issues related to health/safety & to assess & report on any alternatives. This position requires some on-call support. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: *Assess & improve occupational health/safety status on the production site in accordance w/ laws/regulations. *Identify & respond to the to-be established & amended occupational health/safety law. *Create & revise the work permits. *Train production engineers on issuing work permits. *Establish & implement occupational health management standards & guidelines. *Create a medication list & purchase medication. *Collect & manage local language version of MSDS. *Provide operators with MSDS training. *Purchase & install warning signs at the site. *Plan & execute safety assessment. *Analyze & improve on-site risks. *Purchase legitimate safety gear. *Identify required safety blocks & supplier. *Establish & train the Lock out/Tag out processes. *Build emergency response systems & organization. *Develop & review the emergency scenarios for all production processes. *Plan & execute emergency training. *Identify root causes & plan recurrence prevention measures when an accident occurs. *Establish a reporting process for government agencies & emergency response procedures in case of on-site accidents. *Report occupational health & safety status to government agencies & take follow up measures. *Create a checklist for on-site inspections. *Create & manage the documents required for ISO45001. *Take appropriate measures to improve occupational safety & correct non-conformity specified by ISO evaluation reports. *train employees and construction/equipment vendors on occupational health & safety. *Evaluate the effects & compliance w/ the training contents on a regular basis. Requirements: *Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or equivalent.. *A minimum of 1 - 5 years of relevant safety environment experience in a battery industry or large chemical company. *Employer prefers ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technologist) certification. *Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). *Experience with Auto-CAD or similar programs preferred. *In office: Must wear company-provided uniform. *In production site: : Must wear company-provided uniform & PPE including safety shoes, safety helmet (hard hat), safety glasses/safety goggles, & portable gas measuring device. Qualified candidate must: *Assist training & presentation effectively, & conduct training under supervision. *Analyze data. *Understand type, structure, management method of explosion prevention, flare system, safety hygiene management system (KOSHA/OHSAS-18001) & state/local regulations, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification & Labeling of Chemicals), & soil remediation construction & lead construction. *Assist negotiating terms of bids/contracts. *Manage work safety & check self-control safety check under supervision. *Conduct workplace safety training based on the understanding of safety awareness training for hazardous work under supervision. *Solve moderately difficult problems related to SHE (Work Environment). *Have co-operative skills at all levels & w/ other functions & departments. *Have communication/coordination skills. *Work to achieve goals in spite of barriers/difficulties. *Identify new areas for learning. *Adopt well & work effectively in diversified/cross-cultural environment. *Prevent conflicts & draw alternatives using conflict management strategy. *Improve work process by creative alternatives. *Understand needs of internal/external customers. *Identify & clarify difficult situations/problems, & seek alternatives. *Make logical/reasonable decision to address needs in a timely manner. *Specify & prioritize issues in a problematic situation. *Understand formal/informal organization structure. *Take appropriate actions to identify cause & prioritize solutions when problems occur. *Monitor whether employees are following procedures. *Detect defects & uncertainty sensitively. All employees will be required to participate in 4 weeks of training in Georgia or Korea. Travel expenses will be company paid.
