ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Value Stream Management:* Assumes overall responsibility for performance of value stream improvement. * Delegate's authority as needed to leverage resources to achieve results. * Team leader/member for cost reduction, safety & quality improvement projects.Problem Solving Support:* Coach and mentor regional & center managers through the problem solving process. * Coach and mentor teams during continuous improvement activities.Problem Solving Training: * Train employees in introductory and advanced courses on continuous improvement. * Train Lean Green Belts in advanced course on continuous improvement.Lean Coaching and Mentoring:* Coach and mentor Lean Green Belts (certified and not certified) through the problem solving process.Continuous Improvement Model Support: * Support and improve activities owned by the Operational Excellence department. These include, but are not limited to: 5s, new center set ups, training programs, MCS-OMT, etc.*Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:* Bachelor's degree.* A minimum of five (5) years of experience, preferably in a medical or other regulated field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Previous experience using six sigma and/or lean tools. * Certification as Lean Green or Black Belt.KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:* Expert analytical/problem solving skills.* Expert consultation and facilitation skills.* Customer sensitivity/business acumen.* Good communication (both written and verbal) and team leadership skills.* Cross functional project leadership.* Ability to independently develop, manage and implement project plans.* Good computer skills specifically Microsoft office products. WORK ENVIRONMENT:* This job operates in a professional office environment but may require time working in a laboratory environment where the potential exists for exposure to biohazardous materials, such as blood or plasma. Additionally, minimal entry into freezers (-30 degrees C) may occur. Personal protective equipment and training is provided. * Must be able to move, transport, position, install, and remove up to 10 pounds.***SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS**** Candidate must be willing to travel approximately 30% of the time to participate in various company Operational Excellence activities.* This position is based in Covington, GA. However, occasional travel to the company's laboratory in Hoover, AL is required.
