Job Title: Production Shift Supervisor Job Location: Dalton, Georgia Salary: Salary to be discussed Description: Duties and Requirements of the Job: • Performs such individual assignments as the supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. • Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation. Also including, but not limited to organization goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department and ensure adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality. • Responsible for coordinating the daily activities of production personnel to ensure plant goals, including labor efficiency, scrap, use of overtime, on-time delivery to customers, zero defects, down-time issues are met. • Conducts shift start-up communications and assigns jobs on the production floor. • Evaluates hourly employee performance and conducts corrective action as necessary. • Ensures employees are trained in the proper use of equipment and machinery, standard operating procedures, quality and productivity measures and expectations. • Solicits employee involvement to assist in improvement of team performance. • Works with maintenance to prioritize maintenance activities. • Ensures company policies, procedures and guidelines are being followed. Training, Knowledge and Experience (May Be Required or Preferred, at the discretion of the hiring team) • Requires High School Diploma/GED; Associates degree or more is highly desirable. • Requires minimum 2 years' Production Supervisory work experience in the LVT/Laminate flooring industry. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Must be legally authorized to work in US without a sponsorship now or in the future. • Relocation package will not be offered with this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: * Remain in a stationary position, move about, activate, use and/or operate productivity machinery and to communicate and exchange information. * The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend and regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, * Requires candidate to detect, inspect, perceive and observe.. • Works within the setting of a manufacturing environment as well as office and laboratory setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals. • May be required to travel to other sites or customer sites as needed. • PPE must be worn as required; steel-toed shoes required on manufacturing and warehouse floor. * Position also requires candidate to: work flexible schedule with overtime, including but not limited to 12-hour rotating shifts, perform continuous, repetitious physical activities (these activities may involve fine movements or large motions), keep pace with current production speed, maneuver/move with reasonable force, position and move self for extended periods of time. **Openings currently on 1st and 2nd shifts; however, subject to change during hiring phase according to business needs.
