Job Title: Mechanic Technician Job Location: Mc Rae, Georgia Salary: $15.00 - $25.00 Salary Frequency: Hourly Description: JOB SUMMARY: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble. * Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. * Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. * Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. * Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. * Repairs or replaces defective parts. * Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. * Lubricates and cleans parts. * Starts devices to test their performance. * Set up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal-working tools to make and repair parts. * Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. * Repairs electrical equipment. * Other duties as assigned. PROFESSIONAL/BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: Qualified candidate must: * Have the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in order to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. * Have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, design, and project management computer software applications. * Be self-motivated/show initiative/dependable. * Be a strong communicator and have strong interpersonal skills. * Display good customer service, negotiation, decision making, reasoning, and problem solving skills. * Tolerate and be adaptive to change. * Cooperate and collaborate with teammates to accomplish common goals and objectives. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to required to remain in a stationary position, as well as frequently move about and position oneself to operate various machinery and equipment. The employee will occasionally be required to move up to 50 pounds.
