ONE APPLICATION WILL ALLOW EVALUATION FOR ALL POSTED PRODUCTION OPERATOR POSITIONS.*** Formation Production Operator works by following standard procedures under supervision. Uses the equipment & computerized systems to produce, evaluate, package semi-finished goods of lithium-ion battery cells. Responsibilities may include computer-controlled operations of multiple equipment types such as press pre-charge, degassing, charging/discharging, folding, cell inspection, cell taping, & cell/box packaging. Press Pre-charge- A process of applying pressure to the cell using heat & pressure to make the interface adhesion uniform. Degassing- A process of removing gas generated inside the cell after pre-charge of the secondary battery cell. Charging/Discharging- A process of measuring the capacity of the battery through charging/discharging, charges the battery to be a SOC (State of Charge) required for OCV (Open current voltage) screening. Folding- A process of folding the sides of a cell according to the specified dimension. Cell Inspection- A process of automatically inspecting the thickness, weight, insulation voltage, insulation resistance, print quality, & dimensions after outgoing IR/OCV (Internal resistance/open circuit voltage) measurement/before the battery release. Cell taping- A process of adding tape at the sealing folded area. Cell/Box Packaging- A process of automatically packaging the manufactured cell. Conducting quality checks, engaging in troubleshooting & basic equipment maintenance & cleaning throughout the production process, &d packaging supplies for shipment. Job Duties: *Perform pre-operation checklist on machine prior to startup. *Engage in production activities according to work instructions & standards. *Ensure that work is completed in a safe manner & maintain a safe working environment according to instructions. *Check equipment regularly to ensure normal operation. *Monitor processes &d performs continuous image inspections & visual quality checks of the products to ensure acceptable standards are met. *Monitor data from measuring devices. *Take out battery cells evaluated to be defective according to the specifications. * Check the status of empty tray feeding. *Dispose of the defect collecting magazine & replace the empty magazine. *Identify any irregularities which are not compliant to instructions regarding environment, process, materials, & the quality. *Basic troubleshooting according to instructions & report issues that are unresolved. *Measure all or selected products for features specified in the Control Plan. The inspection could be implemented automatically or by a person, using lupe or other measuring instruments. For the appearance features, check & sort out no good (NG) products according to specified acceptable cell appearance features. *After degassing, measure the thickness of sample’s seal, & cell dimensions. *Clean the equipment & working area according to standard. *Inspect the equipment according to inspection guide, take appropriate measures on site, report issues if not resolved. Requirements: *High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development) required. *Six (6) months of experience as a Production Operator in a manufacturing environment required. *Full professional proficiency in the English language required. *Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) experience required. *Basic computer skills required. *Must wear Personal Protective Equipment including safety shoes, clean suit, dust mask/respirator, latex gloves, safety glasses & polyurethane protective gloves for cutting, wear chemical protective clothing & mask to shield the effects of chemical hazards (only for the protection-required operations), must consistently & safely lift up to 40 pounds & maneuver stairs/ladders, reach, tolerate prolonged upright positions, balance, & remain low to push & pull objects. *Work Environment: Formation Room-Room-temperature aging room is between 64.4 & 82.4 degrees w/ humidity of 60 percent or less. High-temperature aging room is between 131 & 149 degrees w/ humidity of 60 percent or less. Formation charge room temperature is between 68 & 86 degrees w/ humidity of 60 percent or less). Potential exposure to hazardous material (Alcohol). *Qualified candidate must operate the equipment according to the standard procedures & work instructions under supervision, conduct quality inspection for the semi-finished product under supervision, troubleshoot a variety of equipment malfunctions, understand First in, First out (FIFO), manage & prioritize workload, & complete routine documentation or basic report as required under supervision. *Qualified candidate must stay focused on the quality by ensuring consistency & adherence to high standards, as well as paying close attention to even the minutest details involved, work collaboratively w/ other teammates & departments to accomplish common goals & objectives, take responsibility for the tasks that have been assigned, & follow standard procedures, adhering to rules & regulations to ensure compliance & efficiency. PTO paid time off) plans: 13 PTO (paid time off) days and 3 EPTO (emergency paid time off) days per year (prorated depending on your hire date). 11 paid holidays per year. Lunch: Company buys employee’s lunch for all shifts. They are building a cafeteria at the plant. Benefits: Company pays 90 percent of the health insurance premium for all coverages (Single, family). Medical insurance single deductible is $500. Up to 6 percent matching 401K (pending, but will be completed before the end of year).
