Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for leading general purchasing (such as steel and aluminum/sub materials/paints/equipment’s/MROs) and global trade (such as customs clearance/transportation/FTA) sections activities and supplier management relating to cost, quality, supplier controls, legal, compliances, and service for company. * Provide leadership and direction the general purchasing and the global trade organization. Operates and manages the organization, including employee development and performance evaluation. Strive to improve employee job satisfaction and organizational culture. * Establish and settle work procedures and processes for the general purchasing and the Global trade section. * Recruiting and training employees with expatriate, conducting work directives, performance feedback, and evaluation. * Cooperate with related departments such as the headquarters, divisions, and external organizations, and support internal communication. * Attend meetings related to purchasing department and prepare meetings and reports. * Support communication between Korean and local employees. Major responsibilities: * In the initial stage, develop/design/set-up/adjustment/execution, and overall management and supervision of all processes of general purchasing (according to local conditions/legal) should be carried out, and consultations with relevant departments/related corporations and government agency should be conducted proactively. * Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and professional operation consistent with corporate vision. * Create and execute the overall general purchasing items sourcing and global trade strategies. * Manage supply base and systems either directly or through subordinates for general purchasing. * Accountable for the cost control of purchased items within budget. * Identify and lead yearly cost reductions activities. * Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external) in a fair and ethical manner. * Actively manage the on-going relationships with strategic providers, including supplier improvement, supplier quality, contract management, joint supply chain improvements, and cost improvements over time. * Direct the gathering of the necessary data required for benchmarking, cost analysis, compliance reporting, and pricing negotiations. Communicate recommendations based on information derived from benchmark information. * Provide procurement and sourcing related training and processes analysis to business unit personnel as appropriate. * Manage supply base either directly or through subordinates for global trade systems. * Manage transportation and customs clearance process of KD parts & general purchasing items. * Manage overall duties about FTA (Country of Origin of items from abroad, USMCA strategy, etc.). Other Duties: * Perform special projects or other duties as assigned that occur from time to time. * Actively communicate with HQ to ensure clear and consistent decisions. * Support related activities, events and tasks. Qualifications & Preferences: * Bachelor’s degree (all majors). * Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent applications. * Deep understanding of external market and current trends. * Extensive experience in Global trade and General Purchasing. * 13 years experiences in a related field. Preferred: * Job related experience in Automotive or related Industry. * Extensive experience working in procurement department in a related field. * Experience with Steel & Aluminum/paint purchasing/procurement preferred. * Experiences about customs clearance/transportation preferred. Travel Requirement and Additional information: * Position may require occasional travel (Domestic/International travel). * Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility. * Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift.
