Description:
The Process Engineer is responsible for assisting with plant operations on continuous improvement projects, launch support and maintenance activities. In addition, the Process Engineer will lead plant specific projects such as engineering changes and the purchase of new equipment. The position will also assist with program management in the development and implementation of new program equipment. This includes the evaluation, development, feasibility, design, cost estimates and preparation of request for quotes (RFQ's) and the appropriation requests, request and review of vendor bids and drawings.Key Accountabilities* Research and develop, select and implement, maintain and improve (to achieve) most economic and efficient manufacturing processes.* Implementation of lean concepts in flow, layout and inventory plan.* Creating work places in alignment with latest EHS, OSHA, MIOSHA (and other applicable standards e.g. for robots) and ergonomic rules and guidelines.* Leading or supporting projects such as new launches, new equipment, relocating or changes and additions to existing equipment.* Identify, support or lead CI programs.* Sponsor of EHS program (s) as defined by EHS; lead and support the implementation and training thereof.* Advanced technical skills and expertise I relevant technologies (machining, bending, welding, etc.) and equipment, including excellent trouble shooting capabilities.Requirements - Leadership Competencies, Technical Skills* Lean manufacturing experience preferred (ie problem solving strategies, continuous improvement).* Teamwork oriented with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects to achieve desired results.* Strong mechanical background in the forming and processing of Aluminum required.* Tool and die, forming, bending, trimming, and machining experience required.* Robotics, controls, welding experience preferred.* Experience working for Automotive Tier 1 or 2 supplier for minimum of 5 years.* BS - Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree required.* Fluent in English.* Proficient in Microsoft Office including Project and Visio.* Willing to travel as required (approx. 10% of time).Salary based on skills, experience and knowledge.#LI-MB
