*COMPANY IS OFFERING A $1000 RECRUITING BONUS*Under general supervision, performs skilled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, primary and secondary repair and modification to electronic fare collection equipment, destination signs, public address, and other coach electronic systems, following blueprints and manufacturers' specifications, and using hand tools and test instruments. Converses with equipment operators to ascertain problems with equipment before a breakdown, and to determine if the breakdown is due to human error or mechanical problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: *Assists in the development/training of employees engaged in vehicle/equipment maintenance/repair.*Assists in identifying/recommending measures to improve/maximize production methods, quality, equipment performance and utilization, and working conditions.*Performs acceptance testing/pre-service inspections of new equipment.*Performs regular preventative maintenance inspections of all revenue and support vehicle fare collection and electronic systems both on and removed from vehicle.*Troubleshoots coach electrical, electromechanical, electronic systems, ADA systems and video surveillance to determine any remedial or corrective action that may be required.*Performs bench repair on circuit boards to the component level on all electronic fare collection and destination sign equipment including but not limited to power supplies, controllers, processors, master boards, coin modules, bill modules, keyboards, and other related electromechanical modules.*Performs basic preventative/remedial maintenance on modules/assemblies.*Reads schematics, identifies symbols, and uses tools, meters, gauges and other test equipment necessary to troubleshoot, repair, and service these systems.*Prepares written reports recommending modifications in electronic equipment, systems, and servicing methods to improve performance/reliability.*Disassembles, cleans, inspects and makes repairs to defective electromechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.*Inspects parts to detect imperfections and or changes in dimensional requirements.*Lubricates/cleans functional parts; repairs or replaces defective parts.*Aligns, adjusts, and calibrates equipment according to specifications. Calibrates testing instruments.*Performs road testing of vehicles to troubleshoot systems or determine the performance of corrective actions.*Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.*Safely operates shop equipment such as fork lifts, floor scrubbers, lathes, drill presses, grinders, welding machines and other tools within close tolerances by following verbal and written instructions, understanding blueprints, drawings and specifications.*Responds to road calls and performs remedial action required to return bus to garage.*Follows departmental policies and regulatory guidelines in accordance with FTA/DOT.*Cleans assigned work areas.*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: An Associate's Degree or equivalent in electronics or a related field with course work in DC, AC, semiconductor devices, and electronic theory AND at least five (5) years work experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of analog and digital electronic equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. *LANGUAGE: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Prepare work orders and other written correspondence. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees. *MATHEMATICAL: Work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. *REASONING: Solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. *CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: New hires will be required to obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 120 days of hire, and will be allowed to use the company vehicle to take the driving portion of the CDL exam. Company will reimburse employee for the cost of the CDL and for any cost associated with maintaining the CDL (while employed with company). ASE certified in Electrical/Electronics systems or equal experience or certificates in the electronics field. Must have a complete mechanics tool set to include a rolling tool storage cabinet. Employer provides an annual tool allowance of $505.00 for this position. *PHYSICAL: Regularly required to remain in an upright position; move/traverse; operate, inspect, detect, install, remove, diagnose; communicate/converse. Frequently is required to handle/tend; ascend/descend; position self/move. May occasionally transport and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. *ENVIRONMENT: The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation; and vibration. Minimum Education: Associates degree/some college
Minimum Experience: 60 Months

Special Requirements:
Applicant Must have an Associate's Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics or a related field with course work in DC, AC, semiconductor devices, and electronic theory.
Applicant Must have at least five (5) years work experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of analog and digital electronic equipment.
Applicant Must have ASE certification in Electrical/Electronics systems or equal experience or certificates in the electronics field.
Applicant Must have a valid (regular) Georgia Driver's License.
Applicant Must obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 120 days of being hired.
