Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Take advantage of this great entry level supply chain opportunity with this well-known international manufacturer. * To manage vendors, assist with inventory tracking, and interact with internal departments. * To review and forecast materials and supply needs for product runs. * Assist with inventory reporting and analytics. * Responsible for general purchasing (such as steel & aluminum /sub materials/paints/equipment/MROs) activities and supplier management relating to cost, quality, supplier controls, legal, compliances, and service for employer.Major responsibilities:* Place orders with vendors according to planned manufacturing schedules.* Research and evaluate various vendors to determine the best price/quality and availability.* Ensure materials are purchased at best possible price by conducting research and analysis of vendors and costs.* Prepare, report, and implement Request for Quotation (RFQ) for general purchasing.* Preparing request for quotations (RFQ) for user department requirements.* Negotiating spot purchases and long-term agreements.* Maintaining competitive pricing.* Leading yearly cost reduction activities.* Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance.* Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy.* Work closely with supplier to optimize supplier processes.* Explore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.* Plan, organize, track, and disseminate information related to General Purchasing suppliers.* Manage vendor and pricing data in ERP system.Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree (all majors).* Solid Excel and computer skills.* Knowledge of external market and current trends.* 2 years of experience in general purchasing.* Must have a valid drivers' license.Preferred:* Job related experience in Automotive or related Industry.* Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation preferred.Competency Based: *Working with a team, planning and organizing, problem solving, communication, strategic thinking and mindset, willingness for transformational changes and flexibility.Travel/Additional Information: * Position may require occasional travel (Domestic/International travel).* Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.* Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift.Compensation & Benefits: * Employer offers opportunities for growth, work flexibility, and competitive pay and benefits.* Employer offers competitive medical, vision, and dental insurance.* 401K will be applied to employees beginning in mid to late 2023.* Employer offers relocation pay for this position.* Employer requires a pre-employment drug screen.
