Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Responsible for all purchasing activities relating to quality, cost, delivery, and service for PE System (Power Electric system, which consist of a motor, a reducer and inverter) parts in an automotive manufacturing environment.* Actively participate into the commodity development, sourcing/negotiations, budget management (Saving/Material Cost) and interface with supplier or internal counterpart.* Work with critical supplier, assisting them in developing a short term `Build and Ship' plan that supports production at assembly plant and focus on a supply plan for critical components.Main Duties and Responsibilities:* Select, develop, and manage supply base for production parts, components, and systems by preparing RFQ's for multi-year full production quantities, negotiating long term agreements, maintaining competitive pricing, leading yearly cost reduction activities and monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance.* Find potential local suppliers in NA and select the most competitive supplier for EV programs.* Negotiate with supplier for the best material and tooling cost to achieve the vehicle target cost.* Develop all assigned commodities with sourced supplier meeting required specification and timing.* Secure/achieve target quality level from development phase leading to mass production phase and establish improvement plans for problematic parts or any relevant issues that impact quality and delivery.* Establish and manage complex material logistics from multiple tiered suppliers.* Monitor and prevent disruptions in supply chain to avoid impact to operations.* Constantly develop new technologies and processes.* Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering and Suppliers to ensure securing supply at most competitive cost.* Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy.* Explore available technologies and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.* Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers to achieve optimum efficiencies.* Plan, organize and disseminate information related to production suppliers.* Maintain up-to-date supply base information database.* Perform special projects or other duties as assigned that occur from time to time.* Actively communicate with HQ to ensure clear and consistent decisions.* Support related activities, events, and tasks.* Meet all other requirements as assigned.Minimum requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, etc., or related field from accredited university.* Minimum 2 years of related job experience.* Must have a valid drivers' license.Preferred:* Years of experience from PE System (motor/reducer/inverter) industry strongly preferred.* Bilingual preferred - Ability to read, write, and speak English and Korean fluently.* Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation preferred.Competency Based: * Understand the issue by separating the problem or the situation into smaller elements, comprehensively understand the situation based on accumulated data and logic.* Utilize various persuasive methods to acquire desired objectives from opposing negotiators; negotiate and agreeing to conditions that mutually satisfy and benefit the negotiating parties from a long-term perspective.* Clearly define the contents and characteristics of a problem; search for rational procedures and approaches to propose the best problem-solving solutions. * Understand the corporation's products, manufacturing and sales processes, marketing IT technology etc. to optimize synergies.Travel Requirement: * Domestic/International travel required.Compensation & Benefits:* Company offers opportunities for growth, work flexibility, and competitive pay and benefits.* Company offers competitive medical, vision, and dental insurance.* 401K will be applied to employees beginning in mid to late 2023.* Company offers relocation pay for this position.* Company requires a pre-employment drug screen.
