Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The Global Trade Assistant Manager will assist in leading the movement of shipments through the company supply chain by providing accurate documentation in compliance with US Customs requirements. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment and delivery of imported, exported, and domestic transported goods. Communicates effectively with vendors, US customs broker, freight forwarder, and transportation carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods across borders. The Global Trade Assistant Manager will oversee all customs brokerage related activities for the company with a selected and contracted customs broker. The Assistant Manager will provide daily oversight of import brokerage operations and its activities with strict adherence to applicable US Customs and participating government agency regulations. General Summary:* Responsible for daily assistance of company's global trade department activities relating to all Customs and Border Protection (CBP) policies and procedures and service for all import, export, and domestic transportation.* Extensive knowledge and experience working as US Customs Broker with primary focus on (FTA/FTZ/ISF/USMCA/KORUS). * Provide leadership and direction of the global trade `specialist' team members within the department and report to the Global Trade Manager. * Provide assistance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) related programs, such as Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Program (CTPAT), in an automotive manufacturing environment.* Assist with the annual audit for CTPAT for the company; evaluate all areas of the program and report to CBP. * Coordinate ocean/air/truck transportation from point of import to point of sale/export.* Arrange expedited transportation (air, trucking) to support and meet companies production plan. * Support and generate cost saving initiatives for logistics process. * Assist in the execution of the overall global trade strategies. * Manage transportation and customs clearance process of KD parts and general purchasing items. * Perform special projects or other duties as assigned that occur from time to time.* Actively communicate with Global Trade Manager to ensure clear and consistent decisions.* Support related activities, events, and tasks.Qualifications & Preferences:Minimum:* Bachelor's degree.* Extensive knowledge and experience working in US customs clearance and transportation. (FTA/FTZ/ISF/C-TPAT/USMCA/KORUS) department in a related field.* 7 Years of Experience in Customs Brokerage.* 5 Years of Supervisory Experience.* US Customs Broker Experience is a must. * Direct experience with import and export shipping. * Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent applications.* Deep understanding of external market and current trends.* Experiences with customs clearance/transportation required.Preferred:* Job related experience in automotive or related industry.* 4 Years of Freight Forwarding Experience.* Extensive experience working in procurement department in a related field.Competency Based: * Working with a team.* Planning and organizing.* Problem Solving.* Communication.* Strategic thinking and mindset.* Willingness for transformational changes.* Flexibility.Travel Requirement and Additional information:* Position may require occasional travel (Domestic/International travel).* Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.* Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift.* Employer offers opportunities for growth, work flexibility, and competitive pay and benefits.* Employer offers competitive Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance. * 401K will be applied to employees beginning in mid to late 2023.* Employer offers relocation pay for this position.* Employer requires a pre-employment drug screen.Equal opportunity employer.
