The basic function of the Field Lube Technician is to handle parts inventory, ensure tools and vehicles/equipment/building are in good working order, work on other assorted duties that are required to support our field staff in the completion of our construction projects as assigned by the Fleet/Facilities Manager. The Field Lube Technician reports to, and is accountable to, the Fleet/Facilities Manager. Position will assist in performing daily, monthly, and annual inspections of all tools/vehicles/equipment as required to help us and the Fleet/Facilities Manager succeed. Position will do preventive maintenance mechanical work on all company vehicles and equipment in the field per scheduled maintenance directives. Reports any discrepancies to the Fleet/Facilities Manager as to the condition of vehicles/equipment if they differ from “Daily Work Report” notes. The position will consistently inspect tools/vehicles-equipment/parts for accuracy and quality (ensure good working specifications) and will report any discrepancies to their immediate supervisor without delay, promote good housekeeping by cleaning the shop areas they are working in at all times. Floors will be swept clean as you work. Constructs within specifications and other constraints/limitations a variety of parts to be used in vehicle/equipment repair projects as required. Will do proactive maintenance/cleaning of tools/vehicles/equipment as scheduled and/or within operational performance parameters as required. Will maintain company work vehicles/equipment and tools are at top (A-1) condition at all times. Will make recommendations to Fleet/Facilities Manager in timely manner of repairs to be done or new vehicle/equipment/tools to be purchased. Will maintain a”log” on the condition of tools/vehicles/equipment for current and future needs of projects. Position will be required to open and close yard/shop properties as necessary to ensure proper process is followed by our company employees in checking out, turning in and proper maintenance of tools/vehicles/equipment are being adhered to. Will keep a supply of parts readily available in assigned areas as a plan in getting work accomplished efficiently. If inventory levels are low-position will inform Fleet/Facilities Manager so we can rectify the situation. Will keep Fleet/Facilities Manager informed of production progress and/or problem issues in conjunction with meeting scheduled production deadlines per Customer/Fleet/Facilities Manager’s expectations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Saturday with the work day starting at 7:00AM. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. Candidate is required to wear steel-toe work shoes and other PPE as specified by the Employer. High school diploma/GED is required; Automotive Technical School Diploma is preferred. Current valid Class C driver's license is required; CDL is preferred as well as ASE Certification. Pay is competitive; benefits package (Medical, Dental, Life, Vision) begins after 90 days of employment. Vacation, holidays and PTO begins after 1 year of employment. DOT Physical, background check and drug screen are administered.
