 Construction continues on the 1.4 million square foot Lowe's Distribution Center in Rome, Georgia.
Most of the hiring for this facility will begin in Mid-October 2012 and continue through Spring 2013.
Positions are posted on the Lowe's website and through the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL).
The Lowe's Distribution Center is located in Adairsville. When visiting Lowe's Career Opportunities be sure to search using Rome and Adairsville as the city. Positions at the facility will have either "Distribution" or "Corporate" displayed under the Division heading.

Positions currently being recruited include:
Team Member Operations: Focus of this position is to receive, put away, pick, and ship product within a distribution center. The Operations Team Member is responsible for maintaining quality by properly and safely handling the product using customer-focused distribution. The activities performed by an Operations Team Member are instrumental in a facility achieving or exceeding key performance indicator metrics.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- work safely while performing tasks and while using equipment such as using proper lifting techniques for handling product, warning team members when moving into a high traffic path, or maintaining safety zone around equipment
- perform tasks in other areas as assigned by the Operations Coach
- perform tasks to achieve inventory accuracy and quality targets while implementing customer-focused distribution
- achieve or exceed personal performance targets by performing assigned on-standard tasks efficiently and effectively
- learn new skills and become certified in multiple areas in order to rotate within the facility
Job Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
- basic math and reading comprehension
- demonstrated adherence to safety requirements
- ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- approach change optimistically, adapt quickly, and maintain proficiency in changing work environments
- communicate and listen effectively
- perform detail-oriented tasks in a fast-paced working environment
- able to read and follow instructions and take directions from others
- ability to work independently as well as with a team
- highly motivated to the operation's success; goal-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- familiarity with distribution center operations; previous warehouse experience
- previous power equipment experience such as a forklift, reach truck, and yard truck
- basic computer skills
