We are "Macon-Bibb's Lead Economic Development Authority". With constitutional authority, we are tasked with increasing the tax base of Macon-Bibb and creating a business-friendly infrastructure by purchasing, developing, and leasing commercial spaces for new and existing businesses.Overview:Job requires independent knowledge of the Macon/Middle Georgia area and a broad scope of Economic Development project activities throughout the area. Job Description:* Qualified candidate will oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results, are consistent with the overall strategy and mission, ensure the smooth running of the office, and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation. Duties include but are not limited to the following:* Provide general support to visitors, schedule meetings and appointments, administer compensation or benefits programs, analyze data to inform operational decisions or activities, schedule meetings and appointments within the office, maintain office condition and arrange necessary repairs, employee onboarding, dispute resolution, employee terminations, administer disciplinary procedures, employment development and needs assessments, analyze problematic situations and occurrences, provide solutions, and policy development and documentation.* In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, auditing, and budgeting procedures. Qualified candidate will be able to monitor daily transactions and recommend ways we can improve financial status and establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles and coordinate and complete annual audits and provide recommendations.* Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc., while maintaining confidentiality.* Organize and update accounting records as needed (digital and physical), establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions, and assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.* Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly, prepare and analyze reports on transactions, provide financial reports, and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.* Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments and liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances. * Ensure compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting and stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations.* Develop trends and projections for the finances, forecast revenue, analyze profit margins, conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities, and develop complex financial models and analyze legal documents.* Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable and liaise with Tax Accountants and fund managers to track tax payments/returns and network with industry professionals.* Participate in budgeting processes, analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans and correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.* Monitor financial press, examine and assess economic and market trends and opportunities, earnings prospects, financial statements, risks and new investments, and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investment strategies.* Look back at previous investment decisions and the thought process of making the investment decision in order to compile advisory reports and make informed recommendations on new investment opportunities and funds that could enhance or diversify portfolios.Education Required: Bachelors' Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.Experience Required: 3 years of accounting, financial, office management, and human resource experience required.Stating Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 (salary may be negotiable depending on qualified candidates experience and qualifications).#CBJB Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Minimum Experience: 36 Months Special Requirements: This job does not have any special requirements.
