POSITION SUMMARY:The Business Development Manager - Ag (BDM) is responsible for planning, organizing, developing new and existing customers, managing and selling products, services and solutions directly to clients and indirectly through Companys dealer network within a specified target market; large customers and government / municipal customers. The BDM is also responsible for teaching, managing and supporting the activities of Company's AG Dealer's selling to government / municipal customers. The BDM role requires the ability to define strategic goals, develop actionable plans, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close, and maintain extensive knowledge of the current market. The BDM is responsible for working with Regional Sales Managers (RSM's) and other internal team members to increase sales opportunities and secure revenue for the AG Division while supporting and collaborating with other Company Divisions (CE, UTV, Parts, IE, ME, ES) for additional sales opportunities. Duties and Responsibilities:Develop, communicate and execute a strategic and tactical action plans for developing go-to-market activities, including but not exclusive to wholesale and retail programs, volume and market planning, customer development, for large customers and factory / direct government / municipal customers to achieve desired results and goals.Through a deep exploration of the market, gathers both external and internal insights for prospecting potential new customers through cold calls and qualifying leads to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.Established and expand relationships and credibility with key decision makers / influencers in the federal, state, county, and city government space.Continue developing large customer and factory / direct government value proposition.Ensure Company's AG products make government / municipal customer "bid lists" and other customer sourcing opportunities.Monitors competitive sales programs and activities in the market.Creates plans to educate and motivate the Company AG dealer network and AG RSM's to actively participate in pursuing and obtaining government / municipal customer sales.Work with Sales Management to discover, explore and generate new large customer business development opportunities associated with expanding the sales channel beyond dealer types.Monitor and report to management data concerning new or existing markets conditions, trends; competitive products, pricing and programs and new business opportunities.Report out to management the results of all sales calls on prospective and existing candidates.Report out to management the results on all planning and sales activities of dealers who are engaging in government/municipal market sector sales - including federal, state, county and city.Daily update in CRM of all customer contact, tasks, events and sales related activities, keeping current information on changes or movement within the market.Regularly schedule meetings with purpose and maintain close relationship with new and current customers / dealers.Follow Company policies for all business-related travel.JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor degree, preferably in business management, marketing, entrepreneurship, professional selling, or related business program.Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant field role.Valid driver's license, good driving record, safely operate lift trucks for product demos.Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:* The employee is required to stand, walk and navigate all areas of the building and facility as needed. * Requires candidate to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. * Requires candidate to detect, inspect, perceive and observe; will appropriately interact with others, including the public, in stressful and busy situations.Ability to travel for business 40-50%, domestic and international.This position is full time and based in NW Georgia. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Federal, state, county, and city contracting and subcontracting experience.Deep knowledge and proficient in federal, state, county, and city proposal writing.Working knowledge of FAR regulations and Federal Government procurement processes.Experience working with independent dealer network.Experience working with chain stores or large box stores a plus.Corporate Account management experience a plus.Proven track record to grow new business.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.An ability to multi-task and prioritize is critical to the success of this role, as is the ability to establish relationships with senior level clients.The ability to actively manage relationships with prospective clients from the initial conversation through the close.Strong problem-solving capabilities, strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, and ability to work in a team environment.Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce and/or other CRM solution.
