Description:
Position Purpose: This position is responsible to ensure uninterrupted serial production for the lowest total acquisition cost by forecasting, planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling the purchasing function for the Company.Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key AccountabilitiesDirectly managing a regional team of purchasing professionals, and collaborating with the central purchasing team:* Constantly promote Safety, Quality, Environment, People, Customer and a sense of urgency;* Set and govern purchasing objectives for HSE, cost, delivery, risk management, personal and personnel development, new product introduction and management of the purchasing function;* Develop and govern methods and strategies for regional and global purchasing of production materials and tooling;* Negotiate and enforce supply terms, conditions and contracts with regional and international vendors and enforce regional and international trade laws and regulations, including Municipal, State, Federal Acquisition and SBA regulations;* Develop and grow regional and international vendor relationships and develop strong internal multidisciplinary networks;* Coordinate regional and global sourcing activities across internal and external boundaries;* Develop and implement regional and global supplier management strategies;* Plan and manage annual purchasing budgets and collaborate with planning and managing operational, material and freight budgets;* Continuously report, monitor and mitigate supply chain risks, and;* Spearhead continuous bill-of-material cost reduction activities. Minimum Qualifications -  Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, preferably in Supply Chain;  Ten years of purchasing, negotiation and buying experience as a Manager or Senior Supervisor of a Purchasing Department with a background in OEM or Tier one in automotive, truck, bus, recreational vehicle and military vehicle industries.Preferred Qualifications:  Master's degree in Business or Engineering, preferably in Supply Chain; A background in Off-highway manufacturing (OEM Construction or OEM agricultural equipment); Government and Defense program experience or working in a regulated industry (FDA, EPA, G&D). Experience with compliance and building process and structure around compliance, and; Certified in Purchasing Management (PMI or CIPS).-Must pass any drug screens, background checks and pre-employment tests as applicable Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies - * Must be a crusader for health, safety, quality, environment and housekeeping;* Proficient with MS Office Products, Lotus Notes, SAP, SPC, APQP, Commercial Contracts and negotiation;* Experience with international purchasing, import and export regulations, and global trade requirements;* Knowledge of global commodity and currency markets;* Detail and service oriented, approachable and effective at conflict management;* Ability to give direction well, both verbal and written, and;* Work load planning and delegation, appoint and terminate employees, and address personnel performanceJob Conditions: * Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment.* Subject to noise and temperature changes. The position is based in Georgia but requires up to 25% domestic and international travel. The incumbent is required to always maintain a valid passport.
