Description:
This position will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position is responsible for supervision of the quality programs, including the planning and implementation of the quality management program. Also supervises product specification testing and other highly complex quality programs.Responsibilities: Organizes and coordinates the activities of quality team around implementation of quality and food safety programs and standards. Recommends new quality policies and procedures as necessary to ensure high quality products, processes and services. Communicates programs and standards to quality team and other plant employees.  Maintains good communication and working relationship with the quality team and operations and USDA Personnel. Ensures that all USDA regulations are followed and that Diana Food and customer quality programs meet or exceed customer requirements. Responsible for indicators management and internal audit implementation. Documentation management (writing, updating). Responds to customer complaints and customer audits follow- up. Responsible for implementation and monitoring for Food Safety and quality programs. FSSC22000 certification follow up. Food quality policy / quality manual update. Internal audit schedule follow up. Supplier audit / sub-contract lab audit. Updating HACCP/SSOP programs at least annually. Reviewing sanitation program as needed, including pre-operational sanitation. Homologation process follow up.Qualifications: Bachelors degree - Food Science or related field. Minimum 5 years Quality Systems Monitoring experience in Food Processing operation. Position requires good understanding of food pathogens, HACCP, SSOP's, GMP's, Foreign material prevention and control, USDA regulations, Pest Control, Food Allergens, Recall and Traceability and process control methods such as SPC, among others.  Position requires candidate to possess proficient computer skills, SAP experience a plus as well as communicating effectively--orally and in writing. Candidate will become well versed in customers' quality programs in short period of time, be dependable, prompt and willing to work weekends and overtime as needed and have good leadership skills.
