Description:
This position will initially be responsible for all production (manufacturing) related purchasing of supplies in the ERP system. Responsible for internal ordering and inventory of stock related to but not limited to the supply needed in maintaining business. In charge of completing various tasks, usually clerical in nature, related to the inward movement of goods, supplies and raw materials. This role could also provide the opportunity for upward mobility to Purchasing Manager once proven as a strategic business partner. • Issue purchase orders and place said orders in a timely basis for purchases of materials and supplies based on inventory levels and or a signed purchase requisition.• Have working knowledge of standard machinery parts and products used for production. Research and negotiate with suppliers for the highest quality, best value, and best terms, etc.• Establish receiving area and receiving procedures for incoming orders.• Knowledge of UPS software desired.• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.• Knowledge of inventory management and cycle counts• Knowledge of Microsoft suite.• Requires system setup and maintain receipt records per ISO audits.• Will operate fork lift, pallet truck.• Handle any discrepancy issues with suppliers.Candidate will perform any and all other activities as required by management. Job Requirements: • 2-year degree (Diploma or Associates degree)• 5 years’ Purchasing Admin experience in a similar field, automotive manufacturing strongly preferred.• Experience working with ERP software required.• Proven track record of effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure environments.• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.• Possesses proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite • Requires candidate to work well in a fast-paced environment which has urgent deadlines and interaction with individuals from many departments and management levels.• Demonstrated skills to work well as part of a team but also skills to work independently (if/when required).* Use of N4 and International purchasing a plus. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally sit and continuously be required to walk or stand. May be required to lift 50 pounds.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to chemicals, noise, dust and change in temperature. Candidate required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toe boots (boot allowance provided by Employer). Background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical is administered.
