Job Title: Quality (Evaluation) Engineer Job Location: Commerce, Georgia Salary: Salary to be discussed Description: Quality Evaluation Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, & coordinating quality control & assurance evaluation of production validation. Will interact w/ wide range of stakeholders, including other departments & customers,to solve urgent complex problems regarding end-products by identifying & evaluating alternatives. Essential Responsibilities: * Review gate safety & reliability assessments in advance. * Respond to requirement of marketing & cell development team; RFQ assessment (analyzing of test condition, conducting test, & reporting test result). * Conduct special tests & urgent tests requested from major customers. * Review & approve results of safety, performance, & reliability test in the process of Gate evaluation. * Conduct regular test of shipment safety (conducting pre-requisite test of a complete range of manufacturing instrument & reporting test result). * Conduct mass production reliability test. * Conduct test of products’ 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) change. * Set up evaluation systems of B_QMS (Battery Quality Management System) & maintain it in real time B_QMS. * Establish test standards by item, register revised versions, & analyze measurement system (MSA). * Plan, drive, & coordinate certification initiatives. * Respond to post assessment in UL WTDP; TUV and UN certification. * Respond to S-mark cell certification for ESS (Japan: UL Japan, UL Korea, TUV Rheinland); UL1642 & UL 1973 for xEV & ESS (North America: UL Korea, ULAG); domestic certification (Korea Battery Industry Association, KBIA). * Conduct UN Transportation Testing & publish the test report. * Manage assets & maintain instrument (evaluation instrument maintenance/check log, standard operating of evaluation instrument). * Review the specification of evaluation instrument & order the instrument. * Plan & implement monthly calibration. * Manage & monitor environment of quality evaluation building in light of 3R (Right material, Right quantity, Right position) and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, & Sustain). * Conduct job hazard analysis (analysis of near-miss accidents, compliance & material safety data). * Manage safety & security of quality evaluation building (IT, facility in general). * Manage operational budget on quality control & investment budget. Requirements: * A Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering or chemistry, material, industrial, electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent required. * A minimum of 1 - 5 years of relevant experience in developing & managing quality systems required. * Employer prefers a track record of successful project & QMS implementations & prefers experience w/ production validation process. * Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel,Word,PowerPoint,etc.) required. * In office: Must wear company-provided uniform. * In production site: Must wear company-provided uniform & PPE including safety shoes, respirator, latex/anti-static gloves, safety glasses/safety goggles, & safety apron. Qualified candidate must: * Understand structure & operational mechanism of QMS, the process of 8D(Define the problem, Immediate containment action, Define and verify root cause, Corrective action, Mistake-proof, Process controls, Verification, Preventive action) & apply this process for QC/QA according to the standard procedures & work instructions, & MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). * Understand & apply process, information, tools, and support for accomplishing project objectives under supervision. * Understand APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) & process capability index (Cp, Cpk, Pp, PpK) & apply various analytical methods according to the standard procedures & work instructions. * Understand DOE & apply various analytical methods according to the standard procedures & work instructions. * Understand assessment process & the process of certifications (e.g. ISO9001, ISO26262, IATF16949, VDA6.3) & apply the standards for QC/QA according to the standard procedures & work instructions, the concept & process of DFM (Design For Manufacturing) & apply the process for QC/QA according to the standard procedures & work instructions, procedures & standards of AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) & apply the standards for QC/QA according to the standard procedures & work instructions, & status, prospect, & future of second battery industry. * Skills in supporting IT solutions for QMS. * Understand 3R & 5S, as mentioned above. * Read mechanical drawings. * Create clear & easy-to-understand document about technical subject that requires instruction &/or explanation under supervision. * Solve moderately difficult problems related to quality (CS). *Work collaboratively w/ other teammates & departments to accomplish common goals & objectives. *Derive logical conclusions even in somewhat difficult situation or from limited number of options available. *Determined to stay focused on the quality by ensuring consistency & adherence to high standards, as well as paying close attention to even the minutest details involved. *Drive to outshine, by pushing one’s limit in order to show consistent improvement. *Possess higher-order thinking skills that enable one to see both sides of the coin. * Acknowledge & drive the process/strategic change. * Treat everyone w/ respect & sensitivity to differences among individuals as a result of language/cultural background. * Consider internal/external customers & their needs. * Influence others w/in the job area through explanation of facts, policies & practice by clearly conveying information & ideas in an engaging & easy-to-understand way.
