Job Title: Machinist Journeyman Job Location: Savannah, Georgia Salary: $26.00 - $28.00 Salary Frequency: Hourly Description: Position Summary: * Set up, operate and maintain machines and equipment used for drilling, cutting, milling and forming steel pipe and tube in preparation for fabrication, assembly and installation. Primary Responsibilities and Duties: * Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products such as beams, braces, pipes, and plates for offshore drilling jackets and decks. * Operate an overhead crane or fork-lift to move, load, unload and store materials and supplies. * Read blueprints, section and plan drawings, part sketches, weld symbols, and layout plates. * Operate a computer, track torch, shop machinery, drills, mill machines, and rigging. * Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. * Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed. * Performs other duties as required. Qualifications: * Possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position. * Must understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. * Must be willing to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently. Requirements: * Must occasionally ascend to heights that may exceed 200 ft and work in confined spaces. * Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. * Must be available to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload. * Must observe and comply with all safety and project rules. * Must have required tools.
